One law for the rich, one for the poor.

The UK government has announced new fixed penalty notices for failing to wear a seatbelt, or putting illegal plates on a vehicle have increased to £60, up from £30 at present. You could argue that having to wear a seat belt, could infringe your civil rights.
As for the illegal number plates, some are so confusing, that if you spotted one in a hit and run, you wouldn’t be able to tell the police the correct number. For years these illegal number plates have been a compulsory fail on an M.O.T. test, but the Government has always taken a soft approach to this. If they made this fine £6,000 instead of £60, it might stop this practice, as it is most people will gladly pay the fine, why not, it is less than you would pay for being caught by a speed camera., and no penalty points.
Better still a £6,000 fine, and the vehicle confiscated would be more appropriate. Check out what the Government say http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Nl1/Newsroom/DG_178975?cid=rss
